Bihar’s chief minister, Nitish Kumar, said that the families of the dead would get ₹2 lakh and the injured would get ₹50,000.
Police say that a bus, a truck, and a pickup truck crashed in Katihar district of Bihar, killing at least 13 people and injuring 30 others.
According to PTI, the event took place on Saturday night on NH-31 in the Kodha block of Katihar, which is under the jurisdiction of the Korha Police Station. Local authorities and police quickly began a rescue operation.
The chief minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, said that each of the deceased’s next of kin would get ₹2 lakh and each of the injured would get ₹50,000.The chief minister said that the CM’s relief fund would give ₹2 lakh each to the immediate family members of the deceased. The chief minister’s official statement said, “He also announced ₹50,000 to each person who was hurt in the accident.”
The police still don’t know what caused the accident. At first, reports said that the bus driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed.
The injured people have been taken to a government hospital in the nearby Purnea district.
