“Our mission is still going on. We are making progress on the Uniform Civil Code and “One Nation, One Election,” Prime Minister Modi declares.
On Monday, April 6, 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi remarked that the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and “One Nation, One Election” are two unfinished tasks for the BJP. He also said that serious and optimistic talks are going on about them.
At an event on the BJP’s foundation day, Mr. Modi spoke to almost everyone and also attacked the Congress. He claimed that BJP members had to deal with a lot of problems, such the Emergency and being oppressed by the grand old party.
He stated that many BJP activists had even died, as happened in West Bengal and Kerala, “where violence has become a part of politics.”We are still on our mission. “There are serious talks going on in the country about UCC and ‘One Nation, One Election,’ and we are making progress on them,” he stated. The “One Nation, One Election” approach suggests that assembly and Lok Sabha elections should happen at the same time. The UCC wants to make the same laws for marriage, adoption, and other things for everyone in the country.
Mr. Modi stated that the country knows that the BJP is truly trying to meet every difficulty and would keep doing so. He also added that good things have happened in the past and will happen again in the future. He said, “There are countless such works that are the result of the BJP’s honest efforts.” These include the end of hundreds of black laws from the British era, the building of a new Parliament building for democracy, a 10% reservation for the poor in the general category, a law to ban triple talaq, the Citizenship Amendment Act, and the building of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
The Prime Minister said that the BJP is the only political party where the workers see the party as their mother. That’s why the party’s founding day is more than just a political occasion. For all the workers, it is an emotional time. “This day lets us thank the party for giving us the chance to serve the country,” he remarked.
