In southern Lebanon, a roadside attack killed one French soldier and hurt three others. Both the UN peacekeeping forces and the French government blamed the attack on the Iranian-backed militant group Hezbollah.

India condemned the attack on French UN peacekeepers in Lebanon on Saturday and told the Lebanese government to quickly look into it and punish those responsible.

In an attack that UN peacekeepers and French officials said was carried out by Iran-backed Hezbollah, a French soldier was killed and three others were hurt while clearing a street in southern Lebanon.
